Every year, PHCC of Massachusetts awards scholarships to deserving students to help them pursue further education to help our industry move forward and increase opportunities for our member's families.


PHCC of MA

The PHCC of Massachusetts Scholarship is provided to individuals pursuing a career in the plumbing, heating, cooling industry who are enrolling in a full-time degree or certificate program at a four-year college, two-year community college, technical college, Massachusetts trade school or certified apprentice program. All applicants must be sponsored by a PHCC of MA Contractor, Affiliate or Associate member in good standing.

McGlame-Wordell

This cutting-edge method allows you to participate virtually. All you must do is sit by your computer in the comfort of your home and, of course, pay attention. The PHCC of MA instructor team will engage with the class by encouraging your questions and leading discussions. Licensees who select this option must have a unique email address not shared with another licensee and access to a computer or iPad with webcam, video, microphone and speakers.

Richard J. Bilo

The Richard J. Bilo Memorial Scholarship was created by the Bilo family after Richie, a long-time PHCC contractor member who passed away suddenly in 2003. He valued the importance of advanced education in the trades and strived to expose young people to a higher level of education and professionalism. The Richard J. Bilo Memorial Scholarship is presented to individuals pursuing a career in the plumbing, heating, cooling industry. Qualified applicants include students who are enrolled in a Massachusetts Trade school Board certified apprentice program for plumbing and/or gas fitting tier training.

PHCC-National Association

Available since 2008, thousands of licensees have selected this option. Customers who purchase a correspondence program will receive a hard copy of all the materials they will need to review in order to complete the program. Each correspondence program you order will include the session handbook, and a guide containing step-by-step instructions, test questions and sheet to record your answers. A computer is not required. The operation of scholarship funds and the awarding of scholarships are subject to the terms of the respective scholarship fund agreements. Scholarship award amounts vary depending on the size of the fund, the number of qualified applicants, and the criteria of the fund.
